Beastie Boy Member MCA Has Cancer; Album, Tour Postponed
By Nolan Strong
The Beastie Boys have announced that their upcoming tour and album Hot Sauce Committee Part 1 have been postponed indefinitely, after a cancerous tumor was found in group member Adam “MCA” Yauch. Representatives for the group told AllHipHop.com that a cancerous tumor was found in Yauch’s left parotid (salivary) gland. Luckily, the tumor was caught early and is localized to one area, but the treatable tumor will require surgery and several weeks of treatment.
Also, reps said the tumor was in an area that would not impact Yauch’s vocal cords. “Our thoughts, love and prayers are with Adam Yauch, his family and the Beastie Boys,” representatives for the group’s label, EMI told AllHipHop.com in statement. “The most important thing is to allow Adam to focus on staying healthy. We wish him all the best and a speedy recovery.” The news comes as the group also prepares to launch a limited pressing of the track “Too Many Rappers” (featuring Nas), from the Hot Sauce Committee Part 1 album.
The single was recorded live at Bonnaroo in 2009. Only 5,000 vinyl pressings of the single are being distributed.

Nas Responds To Kelis Allegations In Divorce Case
By Tai Saint Louis
As his less-than-amicable divorce from singer Kelis rages on, rapper Nas has disclosed his earnings and expenses to support the fact that his financial state is not quite what his estranged wife believes it is.
According to TMZ.com, the Queensbridge native reports that while Kelis’ divorce petition indicated that he had received $11 million for his deal with Def Jam in 2006, he in fact only received close to $4 million.
Since then, he says, his monthly income has decreased to $147, 165. Nas’ monthly expenses, on the other hand, currently total $71, 371.96, including $10,000 on his personal grooming alone, clothing and toiletries included.
Almost a month ago, Kelis made a similar disclosure, telling the courts that since her separation from Nas in November of last year, her average monthly income had decreased to $21, 616, almost $60,000 less than her projected expenses, once she gives birth to the child she is expecting with her ex.
The “Milkshake” songbird requested that a judge order Nas to pay all pregnancy-related expenses, half of all medical expenses after the baby is born, child support, and spousal support to maintain the life she lead while married. “My survival is based on [his] will at this time,” Kelis said. “If he does not want to pay for an expense, it does not get paid.”
Though Kelis claims Nas has not offered any support since their separation, Nas told the judge that has agreed to pay $350 for a stroller, $450 for a baby sling, and $1,598 for two cribs.
He also indicated that he’d be willing to pay $5,000 a month in child support, which he called a “reasonable amount.” He went on to say that he wants to be “fully involved” with raising his second child.

Teen Girl Falls In Open Manhole While Texting!
Why didn’t she see it? You’re ahead of me here. She was too intent on tapping out a text message to notice the gaping gap in the sidewalk and just dropped straight on in. Idiotic, yes, but now Alexa’s parents are trying to blame someone else for their daughter’s stupidity while making a little money into the bargain. They’re suing the city.
I’m all for punishing people who walk the streets staring into the tiny screens of their cells. They’re a danger to cyclists, for one, and at the very best they’re an annoyance to normal pedestrians, the kind who actually look where they’re walking. That Alexa’s parents are not doing anything to teach her a lesson but instead are blaming city workers is quite ridiculous.
In this case, though, it appears that the girl isn’t so dumb. Here’s the erudite sentence she gave of the Department of Environmental Protection workmen’s apology after they helped her out of the hole: “They were just, like, ‘I’m sorry! I’m sorry!”
And yes, her parents are also witty masters of the English language. The mother, Kim Longueira, speaking to MSNBC: “Oh my God, it was putrid. One of her sneakers is still down there”

Beyonce, ordered papparazi not dare take photographs of her booty.
Props to Bossip Posted by TraxxBeyonce has reportedly ordered snappers not to photograph her from behind on her current world tour because she sweats so much.
The singer is wowing crowds on her I Am … Sasha Fierce global jaunt, but her dance routines are so energetic she is left dripping wet afterward.
So she has demanded photographers only shoot from certain angles to preserve her modesty, according to the New York Daily News.
A source tells the publication, “Beyonce’s costumes are so tiny and her choreography is so complicated that inevitably she sweats. It looks pretty gross, so no one is allowed to shoot her from that particular angle any more.”

VIBE magazine has shut down.
By Houston Williams
VIBE magazine has shut down.
The magazine was launched in 1993 by music industry legend Quincy Jones and it served as as widely revered urban magazine.
"On behalf the VIBE CONTENT staff (the best in this business), it is with great sadness, and with heads held high, that we leave the building today," said Danyel Smith, former Chief Content Officer of Vibe Media Group and Editor in Chief of Vibe.
"We were assigning and editing a Michael Jackson tribute issue when we got the news," Smith said in a statement released to AllHipHop.com. "It’s a tragic week in overall, but as the doors of VIBE Media Group close, on the eve of the magazine’s sixteenth anniversary, it’s a sad day for music, for hip hop in particular, and for the millions of readers and users who have loved and who continue to love the VIBE brand. We thank you, we have served you with joy, pride and excellence, and we will miss you." In the 90's, VIBE experienced meteoric success as a business and an outlet for urban journalism.
It has ailed under the ownership of private equity firm Wicks Group of Companies, AOL reported.
The magazine had seen a dramatic reduction in ad pages and circulation.
Earlier this year, employees were put on a four-day workweek and other cuts were made such as scaling back to 10 issues per year.
There is speculation that the magazine will transform into an online-only entity.
